Part 1- This class is designed to provide foundational knowledge and best practice information on health and safety topics for those providing child care. Part 1 will cover the following topics: child abuse and neglect, including prevention of shaken baby syndrome and abusive head trauma; prevention and control of infectious diseases; childhood illnesses; medication administration; safe handling of hazardous materials, including bio-hazards and bodily fluids; and transportation safety.
